A federal jury in Fort Myers has convicted Alejandro Marquetti-Blanco, 34, of Bradenton, for distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.
Marquetti-Blanco faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and could receive up to life imprisonment. The sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
During the trial, evidence showed that Marquetti-Blanco supplied one pound of methamphetamine to a co-conspirator. That individual then provided the drugs to another co-conspirator, who sold them to an undercover agent from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Port Charlotte.
The DEA led the investigation into this case. Assistant United States Attorneys Mark Morgan and Benjamin Winter are prosecuting.
“United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.”
