Angela Ossorio has filed a lawsuit against a prominent religious institution in Florida, seeking justice for injuries she sustained during an event. The complaint was filed by Angela Ossorio on October 9, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, naming St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg and The Board of Trustees of the Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church as defendants.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on October 28, 2023, when Ossorio attended a public event hosted by the defendants at St. Luke’s premises in St. Petersburg. According to the complaint, while attending this event as a lawful guest and invitee, Ossorio was injured when a clothing rack under the care and control of the defendants became unstable and tipped over, striking her and causing significant injuries including a fractured finger. As stated in the filing, “Plaintiff required surgical intervention” due to her injuries which resulted in “bodily injury, pain and suffering,” among other damages.

Ossorio accuses the defendants of negligence and premises liability for failing to maintain a safe environment at their event. She claims that they breached their duty by not securing the clothing rack properly or inspecting for potential hazards. The complaint outlines several alleged failures on part of the defendants: “failing to supervise or monitor the event setup,” “failing to warn Plaintiff of the danger posed by the unstable rack,” and “allowing an unsafe condition to exist on the premises.” These oversights allegedly led directly to Ossorio’s injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest, costs, and attorney fees. She claims ongoing medical expenses and economic losses due to her inability to work post-incident. The lawsuit highlights that these injuries are either permanent or continuing in nature with long-term impacts on her life quality and earning capacity.

Represented by Heidi E. Imhof from Imhof Law LLC based in Lutz, Florida, Angela Ossorio is demanding judgment against both St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and The Board of Trustees for their alleged negligence resulting in her personal injury.

This case will be presided over under Case Number 25-005675-CI with Heidi E. Imhof serving as counsel for Angela Ossorio.
