A consumer has taken legal action against a major automobile manufacturer, claiming that the vehicle they purchased is defective and unsafe. On November 13, 2025, Jason Lester filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of Palm Beach County, Florida, against General Motors LLC.
The lawsuit stems from Lester’s purchase of a 2021 Yukon XL on April 5, 2024, from Ed Morse Buick in Sunrise, Florida. The vehicle was sold with a comprehensive warranty covering various components for up to five years or 60,000 miles. Despite this warranty, Lester alleges that the Yukon XL has been plagued by persistent defects that impair its use and safety. According to the complaint, the vehicle has undergone multiple repair attempts at authorized dealerships but remains defective. Lester accuses General Motors of failing to honor its warranty obligations under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and seeks damages exceeding $50,000.
Lester’s complaint details several specific issues with the Yukon XL, including problems with the body trim and electrical system. The vehicle reportedly required multiple repairs for defects such as fuel pump power control module replacement and refinishing of body panels. These ongoing issues have led Lester to lose confidence in the vehicle’s reliability and safety. The plaintiff contends that these defects were not discoverable at the time of purchase and that General Motors failed to adequately address them despite being given reasonable opportunities to do so.
In his lawsuit, Lester seeks various forms of relief from the court. He requests compensation for the diminished value of the vehicle and costs incurred due to its defects. Additionally, he demands reimbursement for incidental and consequential damages resulting from General Motors’ alleged breach of warranty. Lester also seeks an order compelling General Motors to fully repair any outstanding defects in the Yukon XL or provide other appropriate remedies as deemed just by the court.
The case is represented by attorney Jeremy Kespohl from Krohn & Moss Ltd., based in Northbrook, Illinois. The presiding judge for this case is yet to be determined under Case Number 502025CA011831XXXAMB Div: AF.
