A recent lawsuit alleges that a local lounge operator failed to keep its premises safe and unlawfully served alcohol to an underage patron, leading to significant injuries. The complaint was filed by Grace Woodruff in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida on March 23, 2026, naming Knight Global Entertainment, LLC doing business as Goodnight John Boy as the defendant.

According to court documents, Woodruff was a customer at Goodnight John Boy on March 24, 2024. The complaint states that while she was on the property, she fell in an area that was being cleaned and mopped by staff. The suit claims that Knight Global Entertainment negligently maintained the floors by allowing water to remain on them without cordoning off the area or warning patrons about the wet and slippery conditions. “KNIGHT GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT, LLC negligently maintained the floors at Goodnight John Boy in the manner in which the floors were mopped and cleaned, including allowing water to remain on the floor in an area that was not cordoned off, and failed to otherwise warn or notify GRACE WOODRUFF of the unsafe condition of the floor,” according to the filing.

The complaint further alleges that this hazardous condition was either created by or known to Knight Global Entertainment or had existed long enough that it should have been discovered and addressed. As a result of her fall, Woodruff claims she suffered bodily injuries, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, lost earnings and medical expenses both past and future. The document asserts these injuries are permanent or continuing in nature.

In addition to negligence regarding property maintenance, Woodruff also accuses Knight Global Entertainment of violating Florida’s dram shop law by serving alcoholic beverages to her when she was not of lawful drinking age. The complaint states that “KNIGHT GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT, LLC breached that duty…by willfully and unlawfully serving…alcoholic beverages to GRACE WOODRUFF a person who they knew or should have known was not of lawful drinking age.” It cites Florida Statute 768.125 which holds establishments liable if they willfully serve alcohol to minors who then cause injury as a result of intoxication.

Woodruff alleges her intoxication directly resulted from being furnished alcohol at Goodnight John Boy and contributed to her fall due to impaired balance and coordination. She contends this makes Knight Global Entertainment liable for her damages under state law.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest, costs, and attorney’s fees. She requests judgment against Knight Global Entertainment for all claimed losses as well as any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. A jury trial has been demanded.

The case is being handled by attorney David D. Neiser of Tragos Sartes & Tragos PLLC representing Grace Woodruff. The case number is 26-001800-CI.
