A recent lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County, Florida, brings to light a serious allegation of negligence against a well-known retail corporation. On November 4, 2025, Latoya Lewis filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit against Tractor Supply Company, accusing the company of failing to maintain safe premises which allegedly led to her injury.
According to the complaint, Lewis visited a Tractor Supply store located at 6100 N Military Trail in Riviera Beach on November 5, 2025. During her visit as a business invitee, she claims that there were no visible caution signs or employees warning customers about a wet floor. The absence of these safety measures allegedly resulted in Lewis slipping and sustaining severe injuries. The plaintiff asserts that she was wearing appropriate footwear and exercised reasonable care while shopping. Despite this, the wet floor went unnoticed due to its color blending with the surroundings.
Lewis’s legal representation argues that Tractor Supply Company had a non-delegable duty to ensure the safety of its patrons by maintaining its premises free from hazards. The complaint accuses the company of negligence for allowing a dangerous condition—a puddle of water—to exist long enough that it should have been detected and addressed. Furthermore, it is alleged that Tractor Supply failed to conduct timely inspections or provide adequate warnings about the hazardous condition.
The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for her injuries and related costs. She demands judgment against Tractor Supply Company for negligence and requests additional relief deemed just by the court. The case highlights significant issues regarding premises liability and corporate responsibility towards customer safety.
Representing Latoya Lewis is attorney Colin Richards from Colin Richards Law P.A., based in West Palm Beach, Florida. The case has been assigned Case Number 502025CA011509XXXAMB Div: AE and will be presided over by judges from the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County.
