A CVS employee has filed a lawsuit against a healthcare logistics company and one of its employees, claiming negligence after an incident that resulted in significant injuries. Michael Maddock lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on October 17, 2025, targeting Cardinal Health 414, LLC and an unnamed employee known only as Carlos.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on April 4, 2025, at a CVS store located at 3765 Ulmerton Road in Clearwater, Florida. Maddock was performing his duties when he was struck by a hand truck carrying pharmacy tote boxes. The truck was being pushed by Carlos, an employee of Cardinal Health responsible for delivering medicines to the CVS store. According to the complaint, Carlos acted recklessly by not maintaining a proper lookout and moving at an aggressive pace despite knowing others were present in the area. As a result of this alleged negligence, Maddock suffered severe injuries including permanent bodily harm and mental anguish.

Maddock’s legal representation argues that Cardinal Health failed to ensure its employees acted safely and responsibly while making deliveries. The complaint lists several alleged failures on part of Cardinal Health: inadequate supervision and training of employees, failure to implement safety procedures to prevent such incidents, and neglecting to ensure their staff did not endanger others. The lawsuit claims these oversights directly led to Maddock’s injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 from both Cardinal Health and its employee Carlos. The damages sought cover a range of losses including medical expenses, loss of earnings capacity, pain and suffering, and other impacts on Maddock’s quality of life. Additionally, Maddock demands a jury trial for all issues deemed appropriate for such proceedings.

Representing Michael Maddock is attorney Blake R. Carl from Morgan & Morgan P.A., based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Case Number is: 25-005854-CI.
