Christina Brown, acting as the personal representative of her deceased son Ryan Maxwell Smith’s estate, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Fly High Parks, LLC, doing business as Sky Zone. The complaint was filed on November 25, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial District in Pinellas County, Florida. The lawsuit accuses Sky Zone of negligence that allegedly led to the tragic death of Ryan Maxwell Smith.

According to the complaint, on March 17, 2025, Ryan Maxwell Smith visited Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Largo, Florida. While participating in an activity known as “SkyJoust,” he jumped into a foam pit and sustained a severe injury—a fracture to his calcaneus—after striking his foot on the bottom surface of the pit. The complaint asserts that this area presented a hazardous condition which Fly High Parks had actual or constructive knowledge of but failed to address adequately. As per the filing, they did not take reasonable steps to ensure safety or provide proper warnings about the dangers associated with using the foam pit.

The plaintiff claims that due to these oversights by Fly High Parks, Ryan’s injuries ultimately resulted in his death from a pulmonary embolism on March 30, 2025. Christina Brown argues that both she and James Maxwell Smith—Ryan’s father—have suffered significant emotional distress and loss due to their son’s untimely passing. They seek damages for medical bills and funeral expenses under Section 768.21 of Florida Statutes.

The lawsuit highlights several alleged failures by Fly High Parks: not making the premises safe for patrons like Ryan Maxwell Smith; failing to warn about potential dangers; and inadequate supervision during activities involving risky attractions such as foam pits. These actions are claimed to have directly contributed to Ryan’s fatal accident.

In her pursuit of justice for her son’s death caused by alleged negligence at Sky Zone Trampoline Park operated by Fly High Parks LLC., Christina Brown is demanding judgment against them along with compensation covering damages incurred due to this tragedy including costs related thereto plus jury trial proceedings concerning all issues raised within this case docketed under number 25-006695-CI.
