William Jared Breski, a 37-year-old resident of Eastpoint, Florida, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges that include attempted enticement of a minor, attempted transmission of obscene material to minors, and penalties for registered sex offenders. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Breski appeared in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee for his arraignment. His jury trial is set for April 20, 2026, and will be presided over by District Court Judge Robert L. Hinkle.
If found guilty, Breski could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years up to life imprisonment for the attempted enticement charge. The charge related to attempted transmission of obscene material carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment. Additionally, the penalties for registered sex offenders count would require an extra 10 years’ imprisonment consecutive to any other sentence imposed.
The investigation into this case was conducted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant United States Attorney Justin M. Keen is prosecuting the case.
“An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial,” according to the statement released by authorities.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The program brings together resources from various levels of government to find and prosecute individuals who exploit children online as well as identify victims.
