A Florida resident has taken legal action against a major retail corporation following an alleged incident that left her injured. On October 17, 2025, Meraide Henry filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, located in Palm Beach County, against Walmart Inc. The lawsuit accuses the retail giant of negligence leading to her injuries sustained during a visit to one of its stores.

According to the complaint, on June 10, 2022, Meraide Henry was shopping as a business invitee at the Walmart store situated at 4375 Belvedere Rd in West Palm Beach, Florida. During her visit, she reportedly slipped and fell due to a liquid substance present on the floor in the freezer aisle. The plaintiff asserts that Walmart Inc., as the owner and operator of the premises, failed in its duty to maintain a safe environment for its customers. The complaint details several specific allegations against Walmart Inc., including failing to ensure that floors were free from hazardous conditions and not adequately training employees to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

The legal filing highlights several breaches by Walmart Inc., emphasizing their failure to warn guests about existing hazards and neglecting timely cleanup of dangerous substances on their floors. As per Henry’s claims, these oversights resulted in significant physical harm and emotional distress. She alleges suffering from bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of life enjoyment capacity, and incurred medical expenses due to hospitalization and ongoing treatment. Furthermore, she cites loss of earnings and diminished earning potential as part of her grievances.

In seeking justice through this lawsuit, Meraide Henry demands compensatory damages exceeding $50,000 from Walmart Inc., alongside coverage for legal costs associated with this action. Additionally, she requests a jury trial to resolve these claims formally.

Representing Meraide Henry is William D. Zoeller from Zoeller, Hayden & Thron PLLC law firm based in Palm Beach Gardens. The case is filed under Case Number: 502025CA010761XXXAMB Div: AO with Judge Michael A. Caruso presiding over it.
