Orly Moises Garcia Hernandez, a 34-year-old Honduran national, has been charged in federal court with illegally entering military property and resisting arrest. The charges were announced by John P. Heekin, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
According to court documents, on May 25, 2025, Garcia Hernandez allegedly crashed into a barricade at a checkpoint outside Naval Air Station Pensacola’s gate. After the crash, he reportedly fled from military personnel onto the base to avoid capture. He was eventually apprehended at gunpoint following a foot chase. If convicted, Garcia Hernandez could face up to 18 months in prison and deportation.
The investigation into this incident was conducted jointly by Homeland Security Investigations and the United States Navy. Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration and dismantling transnational criminal organizations. The operation leverages resources from various Department of Justice programs to combat violent crime and organized criminal activities.
