A Honduran national, Marvin Wilton Max Ayala, has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States after being previously removed multiple times. U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Becerra handed down the sentence, which also includes three years of supervised release, following Max Ayala’s guilty plea.

Court records show that Max Ayala unlawfully entered the United States for the fifth time. He was discovered by law enforcement on April 1 after being arrested for cocaine possession. Max Ayala had previously been removed from the country on four occasions: November 21, 2012; April 6, 2015; May 4, 2020; and August 5, 2021. During earlier stays in the U.S., he was convicted of other crimes, including an attempted forgery offense in Texas in 2021.

After serving his federal prison sentence, Max Ayala will be removed from the United States again.

“U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida and Field Office Director Garrett Ripa of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement Removal Operations (ICE-ERO) Prosecutions Unit, Miami announced the sentence.”

“ICE-ERO investigated the case.”

“Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa Roca Shaw prosecuted the case.”
