A hotel guest has filed a lawsuit against a Boca Raton establishment, alleging negligence that led to her suffering injuries. Vileana Briggs lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 21, 2025, targeting Boca Plaza by Lowkl as the defendant.

According to the complaint, Vileana Briggs was staying at Boca Plaza by Lowkl on July 14, 2025, when she experienced an unfortunate incident. The plaintiff claims that rainwater infiltrated her hotel room due to inadequate weather stripping and door seals on the entrance door. This water intrusion allegedly caused her to slip and fall inside her room. Briggs asserts that Boca Plaza by Lowkl, a Florida Limited Liability Company operating in Palm Beach County, failed in its duty to maintain safe premises for its guests. The complaint outlines several alleged breaches of duty by the defendant, including failing to install or maintain adequate weather stripping or door seals, allowing rainwater intrusion into her room, neglecting to inspect for hazardous conditions like water accumulation, and not warning her about these dangers.

Briggs accuses Boca Plaza by Lowkl of negligence resulting in significant personal injuries. She describes suffering from bodily injury leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses for hospitalization and treatment, loss of earnings capacity, and potentially aggravating a pre-existing condition. Some injuries are described as permanent or continuing within a reasonable degree of medical probability. As a result of these allegations and damages claimed, Briggs is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs from the court.

In addition to monetary compensation for damages incurred due to what she perceives as negligence on part of Boca Plaza by Lowkl’s management team regarding maintenance protocols related specifically towards preventing such incidents from occurring again; she also demands judgment against them along with any other relief deemed justifiable under law while requesting trial by jury on all issues presented within this case.

The legal representation for Vileana Briggs is provided by Joseph P. Uccello from Mickey Keenan P.A., based in Tampa. The case has been filed under Case Number 502025CA012220XXXAMB.
