A Jacksonville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse materials. Tyler Bruce McClure, 24, was arrested on November 17, 2025, by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and appeared in federal court the following day. He is being held without bond while awaiting trial.
According to the indictment, McClure allegedly distributed visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct over the internet on or about September 26, 2025. He is also accused of possessing similar material on his cellular phone on October 7, 2025.
If convicted, McClure faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison and could receive up to forty years. He may also be subject to a lifetime term of supervised release.
“An indictment is only an allegation, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty,” according to authorities.
The investigation was conducted by the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, which includes Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Jacksonville as well as sheriff’s offices from Jacksonville, St. Johns County, Clay County, and Columbia County. Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse cases. The program brings together federal, state, and local agencies to pursue offenders and support victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.usdoj.gov/psc.
