A federal jury in Miami has found Tiron Alexander guilty of wire fraud and entering a secure airport area under false pretenses. The conviction, announced on June 5, stems from Alexander’s actions between 2018 and 2024, during which he booked free flights intended for airline staff by posing as a flight attendant.
Court documents revealed that Alexander managed to fly on 34 flights without payment by claiming to be a flight attendant for various airlines. He manipulated the airline carrier’s website application process, providing false information about his employment, including employer details, date of hire, and badge numbers. Evidence showed that he impersonated a flight attendant across three different airline carriers and booked over 120 free flights in total.
U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Becerra will sentence Alexander on August 25, 2025. The sentencing will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors.
The case was investigated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), with U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida and Supervisory Air Marshal Antonio L. Pittman of the TSA’s Atlanta Field Office making the announcement.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael C. Shepherd, Zachary A. Keller, and Andres E. Chinchilla are handling the prosecution.
