Jason Shane Ejmali, a 51-year-old resident of Silver Springs, has pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. Ejmali could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison.
According to the plea agreement, between July 24 and July 26, 2025, Ejmali communicated with someone he believed would provide access to their foster child, aged 13 or 14, for sexual activity. The individual was actually an undercover special agent from Homeland Security Investigations. Ejmali discussed the specific sexual acts he intended and agreed to meet at a location in Marion County for that purpose. Law enforcement arrested him when he arrived.
The investigation involved Homeland Security Investigations and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies.
