Carle Miranda Blum, a 51-year-old deputy with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, was arrested following federal charges related to child sexual abuse material. According to the complaint, Blum received and produced visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of minors. The victim was 17 years old at the time.

Blum allegedly traveled to Atlanta, Georgia in spring 2025, where she recorded videos of herself engaging in sex acts with the minor. The charge for production carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in prison. Receipt charges carry a mandatory minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years.

United States Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne and FBI Miami’s Special Agent Brett D. Skiles announced the arrest. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation while FBI Atlanta helped with Blum’s apprehension.
