A Miami man, Andre Alexander Pino, 45, has been sentenced to 97 months in federal prison for distributing child sexual abuse material. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg after Pino pleaded guilty earlier this year.

Court records indicate that beginning in May 2023, Pino used a mobile messaging application to communicate with an individual he believed was a woman with a three-year-old son. During these conversations, he encouraged the woman to sexually abuse her supposed son and gave detailed instructions on how to do so.

In January 2024, Pino sent several videos depicting child sexual abuse to a chatroom within the messaging application that included the same individual.

On February 26, agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a search warrant at Pino’s residence and recovered a mobile phone containing multiple videos of child sexual abuse material.

Pino has also agreed to pay $5,000 in restitution to one of the victims depicted in the material he distributed.

“U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida and acting Special Agent in Charge Jose R. Figueroa of HSI Miami made the announcement.”

The case was investigated by HSI West Palm Beach and HSI Miami. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Katie Sadlo and Justin Chapman prosecuted the case.

“This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
