A Palm Beach County resident has taken legal action against two companies following a slip-and-fall incident at a local shopping plaza. On October 30, 2025, Barbara Saldia filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against RPP Palm Beach Property, L.P., doing business as Royal Poinciana Plaza, and Proper Cleaning WPB, Inc.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on October 23, 2024, when Saldia was injured after slipping on a liquid substance at the Royal Poinciana Plaza. The complaint alleges that both defendants failed to maintain safe premises and neglected their duty to warn visitors of potential hazards. According to the filing, Royal Poinciana Plaza owned and operated the property where the accident occurred. Meanwhile, Proper Cleaning WPB was responsible for janitorial services at the location. Saldia claims that both parties were aware or should have been aware of the dangerous condition but failed to take necessary precautions or provide adequate warnings.

In her complaint, Saldia accuses Royal Poinciana Plaza of negligence for allowing a hazardous condition to persist on its property without addressing it promptly. She argues that the company did not maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to monitor or inspect areas prone to spills adequately. Similarly, Proper Cleaning WPB is accused of failing to conduct its cleaning services safely and neglecting its responsibility to remove transitory substances from walkways effectively.

Saldia seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for her injuries and related losses. These include pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earnings, and diminished capacity for enjoyment of life. The plaintiff is also requesting compensation for attorney fees and other costs associated with pursuing this legal action.

Representing Barbara Saldia are attorneys Carlos A. Bodden and W. David Bennett from Bodden & Bennett Law Group based in Boynton Beach, Florida. The case is being heard under Case Number 502025CA011334XXXAMB Div: AF in front of Judge Michael A. Caruso.
