A harrowing incident at a Florida amusement park has led to a legal battle, as a parent seeks justice for their child who suffered severe injuries on a ride. On November 25, 2025, William Stansbury filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against WG Wade Shows, Inc., and an employee identified only as John Doe. The lawsuit stems from an incident involving Stansbury’s child on February 2, 2025, at the South Florida Fair.

According to the complaint, Stansbury alleges that while visiting the fairgrounds located at 9067 Southern Blvd in West Palm Beach, his child was injured on a pirate ship pendulum ride operated by WG Wade Shows. The suit claims that John Doe abruptly closed the safety bar without warning, causing it to slam into the child’s back and pinning them down. This action allegedly resulted in serious and permanent injuries to the child. Stansbury asserts that his child was lawfully on the premises as a business invitee and that WG Wade Shows had a duty to ensure their safety.

The plaintiff accuses WG Wade Shows of negligence for failing to provide a safe environment and not adequately training or supervising their employees. The complaint lists several specific allegations against the company: allowing employees to operate rides negligently, failing to warn patrons about potential dangers, and not implementing proper safety protocols. Furthermore, Stansbury claims that WG Wade Shows is vicariously liable for John Doe’s actions under the doctrine of respondeat superior since he was acting within his employment scope when the incident occurred.

Stansbury seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for medical expenses, pain and suffering, loss of earnings capacity, and other related costs. He demands judgment against both defendants for their alleged negligence leading to his child’s injuries. The lawsuit also calls for any additional relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing William Stansbury is attorney Noah Pollock from Morgan & Morgan P.A., based in Fort Lauderdale. The Case ID is: 502025CA012287XXXAMB Div: AE.
