A shocking incident at a medical office has led to a lawsuit filed by a patient who suffered severe injuries due to alleged negligence. On September 2, 2025, Jo Broder initiated legal action against Florida Gastro Partners, LLC in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida. The complaint centers around an accident that occurred on June 10, 2024, when Broder was injured by a sliding glass door at the defendant’s Boynton Beach office.

According to the complaint, Jo Broder was attending a scheduled doctor’s appointment at Florida Gastro Partners’ medical office when an improperly maintained sliding glass door dislodged and fell on her foot. An employee named Carrie Ann reportedly informed Broder that similar incidents had happened before. This statement is pivotal as it suggests prior knowledge of the hazardous condition by the defendant. As a result of this incident, Broder sustained significant injuries including a fracture in her left hallux and permanent nerve damage affecting her gait and causing chronic pain.

The plaintiff accuses Florida Gastro Partners of negligence for failing to maintain safe premises. The complaint outlines several breaches of duty by the defendant: not properly maintaining or inspecting the sliding glass door, failing to implement safety protocols, and neglecting to warn about potential dangers despite being aware of previous incidents. It further alleges that inadequate training and supervision of employees contributed to the unsafe conditions leading to Broder’s injury.

Jo Broder seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, and medical expenses incurred due to her injuries. She demands judgment against Florida Gastro Partners for their alleged negligence and requests any additional relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Jo Broder is Jennifer Lipinski from Lipinski Law based in Jupiter, Florida. The case is filed under Case Number 502025CA008903XXXAMB Div: AE with Judge overseeing proceedings yet unnamed.
