Malcolm Terrell Louis, a 39-year-old resident of Pensacola, Florida, has pleaded guilty in federal court to multiple drug and firearms charges. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, Louis admitted to two counts each of possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin commented on the case: “This successful prosecution is the result of the outstanding investigative work by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and our federal law enforcement partners who are committed to ending the flow of drugs and violence plaguing our communities. My office will continue to aggressively prosecute these repeat offenders as we fulfill the promise made by President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to Take Back America from violent drug traffickers and career criminals who have terrorized our streets for far too long.”

Court documents show that in December 2024, law enforcement officers discovered an unattended vehicle left running at a housing complex in Pensacola. Inside, they observed several bags containing narcotics and a firearm. Fingerprints belonging to Louis were found on both the vehicle and one bag holding methamphetamine and cocaine. A subsequent search warrant executed at a local residence led authorities to find Louis present with additional narcotics—including methamphetamine and cocaine—and firearms. Records indicate that Louis is a repeat convicted felon.

Louis could face up to life in prison for these offenses.

The investigation was conducted jointly by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Assistant United States Attorney Jessica S. Etherton is prosecuting the case.

Sentencing is set for January 8, 2026, at 10:00am before United States District Judge T. Kent Wetherell II at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola.

This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America—a nationwide initiative using Department of Justice resources aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protecting communities from violent crime.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida is among 94 offices serving as principal litigators under direction from the Attorney General. More information about this office can be found at http://www.justice.gov/usao/fln/index.html
