Heather Harris has filed a lawsuit against a Florida-based equestrian facility, alleging negligence that led to severe injuries during a horseback riding tour. The complaint was lodged by Heather Harris in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 20, 2025, targeting Golden Gait Riding Stable Inc.

According to the lawsuit, Harris visited Golden Gait Riding Stable on September 19, 2025, as a business invitee to participate in a guided horseback trail riding tour. The plaintiff accuses the defendant of failing to assess her and her group’s riding skills adequately. Despite being inexperienced riders, they were not given proper instruction or training before embarking on the trail ride. The stable allegedly provided horses with known erratic behaviors without warning the riders about these tendencies.

Harris’s complaint further details how Golden Gait negligently equipped her horse with an improper bit unsuitable for her skill level. During the ride, due to insufficient guidance and supervision from inexperienced trail guides, Harris’s group became separated from their guide. This separation caused panic among the horses; one horse galloped up beside Harris’s horse, causing it to become uncontrollable and eventually bucking her off. As a result of this incident, Harris suffered severe injuries including a fractured femur and arm.

The aftermath of the accident saw further alleged negligence from Golden Gait staff who failed to call for immediate medical assistance. Instead of assessing her injuries properly or calling an ambulance, they forced Harris to walk on her broken leg and placed her in a truck bed. Back at the stable, employees argued over liability instead of seeking urgent medical help for over thirty minutes.

Harris is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of attorney fees and costs. She claims that Golden Gait’s actions were grossly negligent and demonstrated willful disregard for safety standards expected under such circumstances. The plaintiff demands judgment against Golden Gait Riding Stable Inc., covering damages incurred due to physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings capacity among other long-term impacts resulting from this incident.

Representing Heather Harris is Daniel B. Robinson from Bruce M. Robinson & Associates LLC based in Fort Lauderdale. The Case ID: 502025CA012118XXXAMB Div: AN.
