Laura Irwin has filed a lawsuit seeking damages against two companies, alleging negligence that led to her severe injuries. The complaint was filed on October 9, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The defendants named in the case are DCIP, LLC doing business as Pier House 60 and Decade Properties Inc.

The case centers around an incident that occurred on March 6, 2024, at a hotel owned and operated by the defendants located at 101 Coronado Drive, Clearwater, Florida. According to the complaint, Laura Irwin was a guest at this hotel when she slipped and fell on a wet and slippery floor outside the elevator leading to the rooftop restaurant. The plaintiff asserts that this condition was not apparent or discoverable despite her exercising reasonable care. She describes it as a latent defect that posed an unreasonably dangerous condition for guests like herself.

Irwin’s complaint accuses both DCIP, LLC (Pier House 60) and Decade Properties Inc. of negligence. She claims they failed in their duty to ensure the safety of their invitees by not inspecting for dangerous conditions or warning about them despite having knowledge or should have had knowledge of such hazards through due diligence. Specifically, she alleges that both entities neglected to correct these conditions promptly.

As a result of this alleged negligence, Irwin claims she suffered significant injuries including permanent loss of bodily function, scarring, pain and suffering, disability, inconvenience, and loss of enjoyment of life. She also cites expenses related to hospitalization and medical care stemming from the incident.

Irwin is seeking judgment against both defendants for damages exceeding $50,000 along with costs associated with the legal action. She requests compensatory damages for her injuries and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Laura Irwin in this case are attorneys from Allen Law Firm P.A., including William T. Allen Jr., Anthony Livingston, and Abraham C. Banks. The case has been assigned Case Number 25-005670-ClI.
