A Florida resident has filed a lawsuit against a major retail corporation, alleging negligence that resulted in significant personal injury. On November 6, 2025, Patricia Beller lodged a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Nordstrom, Inc., claiming damages exceeding $75,000.
The case revolves around an incident that occurred on January 17, 2025, when Patricia Beller visited the Nordstrom store located at Town Center Mall in Boca Raton. According to the complaint, Beller was a business invitee at the premises when she slipped and fell due to a dried liquid substance on the floor. The substance had reportedly turned dark and sticky over time, indicating it had been left unattended for an extended period. Beller asserts that Nordstrom failed to maintain a safe environment for its customers by allowing such hazardous conditions to persist.
The lawsuit outlines several accusations against Nordstrom. It claims that the company breached its duty of care by not warning Beller about the dangerous condition or placing any cautionary signs or barricades around the affected area. Furthermore, it alleges that Nordstrom neglected to clean up or remove the substance promptly and failed to implement policies or training to prevent such incidents. The complaint emphasizes that these failures were negligent acts on Nordstrom’s part and directly led to Beller’s injuries.
As a result of her fall, Patricia Beller sustained severe bodily injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. She also incurred medical expenses and experienced a loss of earnings capacity both presently and into the future. These damages are described as either permanent or ongoing in nature.
In seeking justice from the court, Patricia Beller demands judgment against Nordstrom for damages covering her losses along with costs and interest. She requests all other relief deemed appropriate by the court while also demanding a jury trial for all issues eligible for such proceedings.
Representing Patricia Beller is Justino Mirabelli from Rubenstein Law P.A., based in Miami. The case is presided over by Judge Michael A. Caruso under Case ID 502025CA011566XXXAMB.
