In a striking legal confrontation, a former employee has accused her previous employer of disability discrimination and retaliation. Lynda Degroff filed a complaint against Geographic Solutions, Inc. in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida on November 11, 2025. The lawsuit claims that the company violated the Florida Civil Rights Act by failing to accommodate Degroff’s disability and creating a hostile work environment.
The complaint details Degroff’s employment history with Geographic Solutions, where she worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst II from July 2015 until March 2024. Despite performing her duties “in an exemplary manner,” Degroff alleges that her serious gastrointestinal condition required reasonable accommodations, including remote work arrangements which were initially granted by the company. However, tensions escalated when Geographic Solutions mandated an office return in February 2024, disregarding Degroff’s medical needs and previous accommodations. “Despite Plaintiff’s documented disability and her successful remote work history,” the complaint states, “Defendant ordered Plaintiff to appear in the office.” When Degroff could not comply due to her health condition, she was locked out of company systems and subsequently terminated under false pretenses of resignation.
Degroff argues that these actions are clear violations of the FCRA as they reflect both discrimination based on her disability and retaliation for her complaints about such discrimination. She emphasizes that Geographic Solutions failed to engage in any meaningful dialogue to explore alternative accommodations despite knowing about her condition. Instead, they enforced rigid policies that ignored her rights under state law.
The plaintiff is seeking several forms of relief from the court: declaratory judgment acknowledging the violation of FCRA laws, reinstatement or front pay if reinstatement isn’t feasible, back pay along with lost benefits compensation, compensatory damages for emotional distress and punitive damages for willful misconduct by the defendant. Additionally, she requests coverage for attorneys’ fees and costs incurred during this legal battle.
Representing Lynda Degroff is attorney Zandro E. Palma from Miami-based Zandro E. Palma P.A., while details regarding representation for Geographic Solutions remain undisclosed at this time. The Case Number is: 25-006367-CI.
