Jacqueline Fennessy, a hotel guest, has filed a lawsuit against a Florida-based hotel operator after allegedly being assaulted in her room. The complaint was filed on November 17, 2025, in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, naming Prism One LLC, doing business as Days Inn Clearwater Central, as the defendant.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on November 13, 2024. Fennessy was staying at the Days Inn Clearwater Central when she claims to have been attacked by an unknown assailant inside her hotel room. According to the complaint, despite securing her room with an electronic key card and deadbolt lock provided by the hotel, someone managed to enter and assault her. Fennessy alleges that this breach of security led to serious and permanent injuries.

Fennessy’s legal team argues that Prism One LLC failed in its duty to maintain a safe environment for its guests. The complaint states that the hotel did not take adequate measures to prevent such incidents from occurring. Specifically, it accuses the hotel of negligence for not deactivating previous key cards or issuing duplicate ones without proper oversight. Furthermore, it is alleged that there were failures in installing or maintaining security features like deadbolts on guestroom doors.

The plaintiff claims damages including bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of wages and earning capacity, among others. She seeks a jury trial and demands compensation exceeding $50,000 along with other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Jacqueline Fennessy are attorneys Royce C. Haddad Jr., Adam J. Talley, and Chris J. Roberts from Haddad & Associates based in Clearwater. The case is assigned Case Number 25-006480-CI.  25006480CI_Jacqueline_Fennessy_v_Prism_One_Complaint_Pinellas_County_Florida.pdf
