A customer is taking legal action against a local ice cream shop and its owners, claiming negligence after a slip-and-fall incident left her with significant injuries. Sarah Jewell filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on September 29, 2025, against Jillski Dynamic Enterprise, LLC, doing business as Jilly Bean’s Ice Cream & Treats, along with Jill Veltman, John P. Kalivas, and associated entities.

According to the court documents, Sarah Jewell alleges that on October 1, 2023, she visited Jilly Bean’s Ice Cream & Treats located at 368 Patricia Avenue in Dunedin. During her visit as a customer on the premises owned and operated by the defendants, she encountered a hazardous condition—a large deposit of brown slippery grease—on the walking surface of the parking lot adjacent to the restroom. The complaint asserts that this dangerous condition was either created by or known to the defendants for an extended period without being addressed or warned about.

Jewell claims that this negligence resulted in her falling and sustaining severe injuries. She describes suffering from bodily harm leading to physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, inconvenience, physical impairment, medical expenses both past and future, loss of earnings capacity, disfigurement and scarring. These injuries are alleged to be permanent and continuing.

The lawsuit outlines multiple counts of premises liability and fall-down negligence against both Jillski Dynamic Enterprise and John P. Kalivas Revocable Trust. Each count emphasizes the duty of care owed by property owners to maintain safe conditions for patrons and accuses them of breaching this duty through their failure to manage or rectify known hazards effectively.

Jewell is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for each count from the defendants due to their alleged negligence. She demands a jury trial to resolve these claims and secure compensation for her ongoing losses resulting from this incident.

Representing Sarah Jewell is attorney Andrew Stinnette from Andrew Stinnette P.A., based in Dunedin. The case has been assigned Case Number 25-005452-CI.
