Delaney Driver has filed a lawsuit against several medical professionals and organizations, alleging medical malpractice that led to a delayed breast cancer diagnosis. The complaint was filed in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on February 27, 2026. The defendants named in the case include Diana L. Wilson, M.D., SimonMed Imaging Florida, LLC, Ryan L. Baker, M.D., Hannah R. Bloom, P.A., and Millennium Physician Group, LLC.
The lawsuit stems from an incident that began on May 23, 2023, when Delaney Driver visited Dr. Ryan L. Baker at Millennium Physician Group with concerns about a lump in her left breast. Despite a family history of breast cancer, the subsequent medical evaluations allegedly failed to properly diagnose her condition in a timely manner. According to the complaint, Dr. Baker ordered both a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound for Ms. Driver’s breasts; however, only an ultrasound was performed by Dr. Diana L. Wilson at SimonMed Imaging on June 1, 2023.
Dr. Wilson’s report described the lump as “probably benign” and recommended follow-up imaging in six months rather than immediate intervention or biopsy despite Ms. Driver’s significant risk factors for breast cancer. When Ms. Driver returned to Millennium Physician Group on June 12, 2023, she saw Hannah R. Bloom, P.A., who referred her for a surgical consultation but did not ensure that the previously ordered diagnostic mammogram was completed.
By November 28, 2023, further imaging revealed suspicious findings consistent with malignancy—a delay that Ms. Driver claims allowed her cancer to progress significantly before it was ultimately diagnosed as invasive ductal carcinoma requiring aggressive treatment including chemotherapy and mastectomy.
Ms. Driver accuses each defendant of negligence contributing to this delay and its consequences: Drs. Wilson and Baker for failing to ensure appropriate diagnostic procedures were followed; SimonMed Imaging for its role in not performing the necessary mammogram; and Millennium Physician Group along with Hannah R. Bloom for inadequate follow-up care and communication among providers.
The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $50,000 per defendant for bodily injury; physical pain; emotional distress; loss of enjoyment of life; increased risk of recurrence due to advanced disease stage at diagnosis; additional medical expenses incurred from more extensive treatment than might have been necessary had earlier intervention occurred.
