In a dramatic turn of events, a man has taken legal action following a terrifying incident involving an exploding grill. Robert Watson filed a complaint on October 23, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against Bell Partners Inc. and Structural Solutions Group LLC. The lawsuit stems from an explosion that occurred while Watson was using a gas grill at an apartment complex owned by Bell Partners Inc., where Structural Solutions Group LLC had constructed the outdoor grill structure.
The complaint details that on July 10, 2024, Watson was at the premises of Bell Partners Inc. as a business invitee when he attempted to use the gas grill located in the pool area. The grill exploded, resulting in significant injuries to Watson. He alleges that both defendants were negligent in their duties to maintain and construct the grill safely. According to the filing, Bell Partners Inc., as the owner of the property at 3751 Pine Ridge Blvd, Palm Harbor, Florida, failed to ensure that the premises and equipment were safe for use and neglected to warn Watson about any potential dangers associated with the grill.
Watson’s legal team argues that Bell Partners Inc.’s negligence includes failing to maintain or adequately inspect the outdoor grill and its attachments, not warning Watson of potential hazards despite knowing or having reason to know about them, and not adhering to corporate policies regarding dangerous conditions. As a result of these alleged failures, Watson suffered bodily injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, loss of earnings capacity, and aggravation of pre-existing conditions.
Similarly, Structural Solutions Group LLC is accused of negligence related to their role in constructing or installing the outdoor grill structure. The complaint asserts that they failed to properly install or inspect the grill structure and did not warn Watson about its dangers. These oversights allegedly created hazardous conditions that contributed directly to Watson’s injuries when the gas grill exploded.
Watson seeks damages exceeding $50,000 from each defendant for their alleged negligence. He demands judgment plus interest and costs from both parties involved and requests a jury trial for all triable issues.
Representing Robert Watson are attorneys Paul B. Fulmer III and Stanton A. Fears from Morgan & Morgan Tampa PA law firm. The case is identified under Case Number: 25-005975-CI.
