A mother has taken legal action against a cheerleading instruction company after her daughter suffered significant injuries during practice. Rebekah Norrell filed a complaint on October 31, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against Cheer Express Allstars and Tumbling, Inc. The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of the defendant that led to her daughter’s injuries.
The case revolves around an incident that occurred on August 23, 2025, when Norrell’s fifteen-year-old daughter, B.N., was injured at a cheerleading practice held by Cheer Express Allstars and Tumbling. According to the complaint, B.N. was struck in the head by another student while performing aerial routines. Norrell contends that this injury resulted from multiple failures by the defendant to ensure a safe environment for participants. Specifically, she accuses Cheer Express of failing to provide adequate coaching and supervision during dangerous aerial routines. The plaintiff claims that there was no coach or instructor present during these activities and that participants were not given proper instructions or physical assistance.
Norrell further alleges that Cheer Express failed to inform parents about the risks involved in such routines and did not notify them about any injuries sustained by students like B.N. As a result of these alleged omissions and commissions, B.N. suffered serious injuries including bodily harm, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and permanent disfigurement. The complaint details how these injuries have affected B.N.’s quality of life and will continue to do so in the future.
In her lawsuit, Norrell is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, and other related costs. She demands a jury trial to address all issues presented in the case.
Representing Rebekah Norrell is attorney Robert McLaughlin from Morgan & Morgan P.A., based in Tampa, Florida. The case is identified under Case Number: 25-006161-CI.
