Dalila Gonzales has filed a lawsuit against two Florida-based companies, alleging negligence after a harrowing elevator incident left her injured and trapped for hours. The complaint was lodged on October 31, 2025, in the Circuit Court for the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, naming Corporate Way Professional Offices 18 LLC and Gold King Apartments L.L.C. as defendants.

The lawsuit stems from an incident that occurred on November 3, 2023, when Gonzales was visiting the premises at 5725 Corporate Way in West Palm Beach. According to the complaint, she was a business invitee at the location owned by Corporate Way Professional Offices 18 LLC and maintained by Gold King Apartments L.L.C. During her visit, while using an elevator on the premises, it abruptly stopped between floors causing her to fall and sustain injuries. Compounding the situation was the non-functional emergency telephone within the elevator and lack of cell service, which left Gonzales trapped for several hours until help arrived.

Gonzales accuses both companies of failing to provide a safe environment for visitors. She alleges that Corporate Way Professional Offices 18 LLC neglected their duty by not maintaining safe conditions or warning about potential hazards within their premises. Similarly, Gold King Apartments L.L.C., responsible for maintaining and operating the elevators, is accused of negligence for allowing such unsafe conditions to persist without adequate warnings or remedial actions.

The plaintiff claims that these negligent acts resulted in significant physical injuries and emotional distress. The lawsuit details how Gonzales suffered bodily harm leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, lost earnings potential, and aggravation of pre-existing conditions. These damages are described as either permanent or ongoing.

In seeking justice through this legal action, Gonzales demands compensation exceeding $50,000 exclusive of attorney’s fees and costs from each defendant. Additionally, she requests a jury trial to address all issues deemed triable by right.

Representing Dalila Gonzales is attorney Brian T. Scher from Scher & Meltzer P.A., located in West Palm Beach. The case is identified under Case Number: 502025CA011396XXXAMB Div: AJ.
