Alma Moulton is taking legal action against a Florida apartment complex, claiming negligence led to her injury. On November 11, 2025, Moulton filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, targeting Seminole Boulevard Apartments, LLC, formerly known as Brittany Bay Apartments.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on February 5, 2024, when Moulton was walking through the parking lot of the apartment complex located at 5585 Rio Vista Drive in Clearwater. She alleges that due to a negligently maintained walking surface and inadequate lighting, she suffered a fall resulting in significant injuries. According to the complaint, Seminole Boulevard Apartments had a duty to maintain safe conditions for residents and visitors but failed to do so. The complaint states that “the Defendant knew or should have known of the dangerous condition” yet did not take appropriate actions to rectify it or warn individuals like Moulton who were unaware of the hazards.

Moulton’s legal representation argues that the defendant breached its duty by failing to maintain or inspect both the walking surface and lighting adequately. Specific allegations include allowing hazardous conditions to persist without warning or correction. As a result of this alleged negligence, Moulton claims she has endured various physical and emotional damages such as pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, and financial losses related to medical expenses and diminished earning capacity.

In seeking justice from the court, Moulton demands compensation exceeding $50,000 for her injuries and associated costs. She requests judgment for damages along with prejudgment interest and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. Additionally, she insists on a jury trial for all triable issues.

Representing Alma Moulton are attorneys Courtney N. Rettew and Michael A. Rettew from Rettew Law P.A., based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The case is filed under Case Number: 25-006371-CI.
