A Florida resident has filed a lawsuit seeking damages after allegedly suffering injuries due to negligence at a hotel. William Collister, the plaintiff, filed the complaint on November 26, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County against Crystal Bay Properties, LLC.

The lawsuit stems from an incident that occurred on January 16, 2025, when Collister was staying as a guest at a hotel owned by Crystal Bay Properties, LLC located at 7401 Central Ave., Saint Petersburg. According to the complaint, Collister was injured by a piece of metal protruding from the bed in his hotel room. The plaintiff asserts that this injury resulted from several alleged negligent actions by the defendant. These include failing to maintain or adequately inspect the bed for hazards and neglecting to warn guests about potential dangers. The plaintiff claims that these omissions created an unreasonably dangerous condition that led to his injuries.

Collister’s complaint accuses Crystal Bay Properties of breaching its duty to maintain safe premises and warns guests of any dangerous conditions. Specifically, he alleges negligence in maintaining and inspecting the bed, which he claims was poorly maintained and posed a hazard. Furthermore, Collister contends that Crystal Bay Properties failed to have adequate staff for inspections and did not properly train employees regarding safety protocols.

As a result of these alleged breaches of duty, Collister suffered significant personal injuries including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent scarring, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. He also cites expenses related to hospitalization and medical care as well as loss of earnings both presently and in the future due to his injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs and interest. He demands judgment against Crystal Bay Properties along with interest and costs associated with the lawsuit. Additionally, Collister has requested a jury trial for all issues deemed triable by jury.

Representing William Collister is attorney Megan Tiralosi from Morgan & Morgan Tampa P.A., while no information about attorneys representing Crystal Bay Properties is provided in the document. The case has been assigned Case Number: 25-006743-CI.
