Gigi Virginia Pelosi has filed a lawsuit against a local hair salon, alleging negligence that resulted in serious injuries. The complaint was lodged by Pelosi on October 10, 2025, in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, targeting International Hair Design of Kenneth City, LLC.
The incident at the heart of this legal battle occurred on June 21, 2025. Pelosi claims she was visiting the salon as a business invitee to have her hair done when she tripped over a cord stretched across the floor. This fall allegedly caused her significant and permanent injuries. According to the complaint, International Hair Design of Kenneth City, LLC should have been aware of this hazardous condition and failed to address it. “Defendant either knew or should have known about the dangerous condition,” states the filing.
Pelosi accuses the salon of multiple counts of negligence including failing to maintain and inspect their property adequately, not correcting or warning patrons about dangerous conditions like the cord across the floor, and neglecting to implement safety measures that could prevent such hazards. She argues that these oversights directly led to her accident and subsequent injuries.
In seeking justice, Pelosi is demanding a jury trial and judgment against International Hair Design for damages exceeding $50,000. Her claims include compensation for bodily injury, pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and earning capacity, among other damages which are described as either permanent or ongoing.
Representing Gigi Virginia Pelosi is Jonathon W. Douglas from Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & McQuaid P.A., based in St. Petersburg. The case has been assigned Case Number 25-005690-CI.
