A lawsuit has been filed against two religious organizations in Palm Beach County, Florida, alleging negligence after a visitor suffered injuries on their premises. Ephraim Vail lodged the complaint on February 28, 2026, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit against Cheder Chabad, Inc., and St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church.
The case stems from an incident that occurred on February 28, 2024, when Vail was visiting Cheder Chabad’s location at 3300 S Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach. As he walked through the parking lot of the school operated by Cheder Chabad, Vail tripped over a misplaced or broken cement parking block. The plaintiff claims this dangerous condition led to his fall and subsequent injuries. According to the complaint, both defendants had a duty to maintain their premises safely and warn invitees of any hazardous conditions. However, they allegedly failed to fulfill these responsibilities.
Vail accuses Cheder Chabad of negligence for not maintaining a safe environment and not addressing or warning about the hazardous condition in a timely manner. Similarly, St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church is accused of failing to ensure that its property was free from such dangers. The complaint asserts that both defendants allowed the dangerous condition to persist long enough that it should have been discovered and remedied through ordinary care.
As a result of these alleged negligent acts by both organizations, Vail claims he suffered significant physical injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, scarring, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and loss of earnings capacity. These damages are described as either permanent or ongoing.
In seeking justice from the court, Vail demands judgment for damages exceeding $50,000 against each defendant along with costs and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. He also requests a jury trial for all issues presented in this case.
