Cherie Davis, a resident of Lansing, Michigan, has filed a lawsuit against two corporations after suffering injuries from a fall at a rental property. The complaint was filed on November 20, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The defendants named in the case are VRBO Holdings, Inc., formerly known as HomeAway Holdings, Inc., and WB Bozo Holdings, LLC.

The lawsuit stems from an incident that occurred on June 21, 2024, when Davis visited a rental property managed by the defendants at Madeira Beach in Pinellas County. According to the complaint, Davis was a business invitee or guest at the property when she tripped over an elevated entryway stoop obscured by an oversized door mat. This hazardous condition allegedly led to serious personal injuries for Davis. The plaintiff claims that both VRBO Holdings and WB Bozo Holdings had either actual or constructive knowledge of this dangerous condition but failed to address it adequately.

Davis accuses the defendants of negligence for failing to maintain safe premises and not warning her about potential hazards. She alleges that VRBO Holdings had direct responsibility for ensuring the safety of their listed properties and failed in their duty by not correcting or warning about the dangerous entryway condition. Similarly, WB Bozo Holdings is accused of neglecting its duty to maintain safe conditions and warn guests like Davis about known dangers. The complaint details various acts of negligence including inadequate maintenance and inspection practices as well as poor employee training.

The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs and interest from each defendant for pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earnings capacity, and other related damages resulting from her injuries. She also demands a jury trial to resolve these issues.

Representing Cherie Davis is attorney Blake R. Carl from Morgan & Morgan’s Tampa office. The Case Number is: 25-006570-CI.
