Cynthia Brooks has taken legal action against a Florida-based restaurant chain following an incident that left her with severe injuries. On November 26, 2025, Brooks filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, accusing V&M Food Enterprises, LLC and its manager Jane Doe of negligence after a chair collapse at one of their establishments.

The lawsuit centers around an incident on May 14, 2025, when Brooks visited the Golden Corral Buffet & Grill located at 4346 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach. According to the complaint, while seated at the restaurant, the chair she was using suddenly collapsed without warning, causing her to fall to the floor and sustain significant injuries. Brooks alleges that these injuries are both severe and permanent, impacting her physical and mental well-being.

Brooks’ legal team argues that V&M Food Enterprises failed in their duty to maintain a safe environment for customers. The complaint details multiple instances of alleged negligence by the defendants. These include failing to properly maintain or inspect the chairs for hazards, not warning patrons about potential dangers associated with seating, and neglecting to have adequate staff trained in identifying such risks. Furthermore, it is claimed that there was a failure to follow corporate policies regarding safety measures or having sufficient policies in place altogether.

The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for her injuries which include pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. She also requests compensation for medical expenses incurred due to hospitalization and ongoing care needs stemming from the incident. Additionally, Brooks demands a jury trial on all issues eligible for such proceedings.

Representing Cynthia Brooks is attorney Zachary Baker from Morgan & Morgan P.A., based in West Palm Beach. The case has been assigned Case Number 502025CA012376XXXAMB.
