Tyler Kuhn of Port Charlotte was sentenced on Mar. 13 to 24 years in federal prison for producing child sexual abuse material, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. Kuhn, age 30, pleaded guilty in December 2025 before U.S. District Judge Mary Scriven.
The case centers on events from October 2019, when court documents show that Kuhn engaged in an online conversation with another individual and produced a video and image depicting child sexual abuse involving himself and a toddler. He then distributed these materials over the internet to the person he was communicating with.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Tampa and Houston Field Offices investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ilyssa M. Spergel.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate offenders who exploit children and rescue victims.
