A Palm Beach County resident has taken legal action against a major supermarket chain, claiming negligence led to her injury. On October 8, 2025, Rose N. Romain filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Publix Supermarket, Inc., specifically targeting store number 0821.
The case centers around an incident that occurred on January 3, 2024. According to the complaint, Romain was visiting the Publix store located at 4075 North Haverhill Road in West Palm Beach when she slipped and fell due to a liquid substance on the floor. The plaintiff alleges that Publix failed in its duty to maintain safe premises for customers by allowing hazardous conditions to exist. “The poorly maintained floor represented an unreasonably dangerous condition,” states the complaint, emphasizing that Publix either knew or should have known about the hazard through reasonable care.
Romain’s lawsuit accuses Publix of several counts of negligence. These include failing to maintain and inspect the premises properly, not adequately training employees, and neglecting to warn customers about dangerous conditions. The plaintiff claims these oversights directly resulted in her injuries which include physical pain, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, and financial burdens from medical expenses and impaired working ability.
In her pursuit of justice, Romain is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs. She demands a jury trial to address all issues related to this case. Her legal representation is being handled by LaRoche Legal Law Firm P.A., with attorneys Aleeyah Jones and Nixon LaRoche spearheading her case.
The presiding judge over this matter is yet unnamed as it progresses through Case Number 502025CA010416XXXAMB Div: AN.
