A Florida resident has taken legal action against a major supermarket chain following an alleged slip-and-fall incident that resulted in serious injuries. Ann Green filed a complaint in the Circuit Court for the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 13, 2025, accusing Publix Super Markets, Inc. of negligence after she suffered injuries at one of their stores.

The lawsuit centers around an incident that occurred on July 8, 2025, when Ann Green visited the Publix store located at 5410 Donald Ross Road in Palm Beach Gardens. According to the complaint, Green was walking down an aisle when she slipped on a sticky foreign substance left on the floor. This fall allegedly caused her significant injury. The plaintiff claims that Publix failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and neglected to warn customers of potential hazards. The complaint states that Publix had a duty to keep their store safe and inform patrons like Green of any dangers they knew or should have known about.

Green’s legal representation argues that Publix and its employees were negligent in several ways: failing to warn of hazardous conditions, permitting dangerous conditions to exist where pedestrian traffic was likely, neglecting necessary repairs or inspections, and not implementing proper safety procedures. “Defendant knew or should have known that pedestrian travel was likely to occur,” reads part of the complaint, emphasizing Publix’s alleged oversight in addressing these risks.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for her injuries which include disability, pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, aggravation of pre-existing conditions, impairment of working ability both past and future, loss of enjoyment of life capacity, and medical expenses incurred due to her injuries. She demands judgment against Publix for these damages and requests a trial by jury.

Representing Ann Green is attorney Lake H. Lytal III from Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath law firm based in Palm Beach Gardens. The case is presided over by Judge Michael A. Caruso under Case Number 502025CA011847XXXAMB Div: AJ.
