A Belleair Beach resident is seeking damages after suffering injuries she claims were caused by improper electrical work at her home, according to a lawsuit filed in Pinellas County Circuit Court. The complaint, submitted on March 20, 2026, by Dusanka Krajnovic, names 5 Star Electrical Contractor, LLC and Tulia Homes, LLC as defendants.

The filing states that on October 23, 2025, Krajnovic was lawfully present at her residence located at 448 — 22nd Street in Belleair Beach when she attempted to unplug an appliance bar refrigerator and was electrocuted. According to the complaint, 5 Star Electrical Contractor was responsible for performing electrical contracting work at the property while Tulia Homes served as the builder overseeing and inspecting the project.

Krajnovic alleges that both companies had a non-delegable duty to exercise reasonable care regarding the safety of residents during and after completion of electrical work. The complaint asserts that “the failure to install the wiring, electrical panel, and electrical equipment properly would create a foreseeable zone of danger of electrocution for anyone inside the property or using the electrical systems inside.” It further claims that 5 Star Electrical Contractor “negligently failed to use reasonable care when installed the electrical wiring at the property by failing to ensure proper functionality,” which allegedly left outlets dangerous and posed a risk of electric shock. The plaintiff also contends that the company did not follow its own policies related to maintenance and safety or warn her about hazardous conditions.

Similarly, Krajnovic accuses Tulia Homes of failing in its responsibility as builder to properly oversee and inspect the completed electrical work. The lawsuit states that Tulia Homes “negligently failed to oversee and inspect the electrical work performed at the subject property for proper functionality,” allowing unsafe conditions to persist. It is also alleged that Tulia Homes did not provide warnings about these dangers despite knowing or having reason to know about them.

As a result of these alleged failures by both defendants, Krajnovic claims she suffered bodily injury including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent scarring, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses for hospitalization and nursing care, as well as aggravation of a pre-existing condition. The complaint describes these losses as permanent and continuing: “Plaintiff has suffered these losses in the past and Plaintiff will suffer losses in the future.”

The legal action seeks damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs, interest, and attorneys’ fees. Krajnovic requests judgment against each defendant for damages along with any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. She has also demanded a jury trial on all issues so triable.

The case was filed by attorney Westley Lockwood of Morgan & Morgan P.A., based in Tampa. The case number is 26-001762-CI.
