A West Palm Beach resident is seeking justice after a fall at a local housing authority property left her with severe injuries. Heather Johnson filed a complaint against the West Palm Beach Housing Authority in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on October 31, 2025. The lawsuit accuses the housing authority of negligence leading to her accident.
According to the complaint, Heather Johnson was visiting the premises owned by the West Palm Beach Housing Authority on August 11, 2022, when she tripped and fell due to an uneven and cracked concrete walkway. Johnson claims that this hazardous condition was known or should have been known by the defendant, yet no action was taken to rectify it or warn visitors. “The existence of the uneven/cracked area of the walkway created an unreasonably dangerous and unsafe condition,” states the lawsuit. It further alleges that the housing authority failed in its duty to maintain safe premises and neglected to train employees adequately to address such hazards.
Johnson’s legal team argues that this negligence has resulted in significant physical and emotional suffering for their client. The complaint details her injuries as causing pain, suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. Furthermore, it mentions financial repercussions including medical expenses and loss of earnings both presently and in future potential income.
The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 from the West Palm Beach Housing Authority for these alleged failures. She demands a jury trial to resolve all issues related to this case. The lawsuit emphasizes that Johnson’s losses are either permanent or ongoing, suggesting long-term implications for her well-being.
Representing Heather Johnson is Joseph Stallone from Goldman & Daszkal P.A., a law firm based in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The case is filed under Case Number 502025CA011393XXXAMB Div: AH with Judge Michael A. Caruso presiding over it.
