A resident of Pinellas County, Florida, has taken legal action against multiple parties after suffering health issues allegedly caused by toxic mold in her condominium. Linda Mai filed a complaint on November 17, 2025, in the Circuit Court for the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, naming Redex USA, LLC; Bal Harbour Condominium Association, Inc.; and Silk Wood Management, LLC as defendants.

The lawsuit stems from an incident that began in October 2024 when Mai was informed by Silk Wood Management that a water pipe had burst above her unit at Bal Harbour Condominium in Largo, Florida. Upon returning to her home, she discovered standing water and subsequently experienced severe mold growth due to inadequate remediation efforts. Despite repeated notifications to the management company about the damage and growing mold problem, Mai claims that no adequate measures were taken to address these issues.

According to the complaint, the defendants failed to warn Mai about potential mold contamination risks following the water damage event. By April 2025, Mai began experiencing health problems including pneumonia which she attributes to exposure to toxic molds circulating through her unit’s air conditioning system. The plaintiff asserts that none of the defendants took responsibility for properly addressing or remediating the hazardous conditions within her living space.

Mai is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for physical injuries and associated pain and suffering caused by what she describes as negligence on behalf of all three defendants. She argues that each party had a duty of care towards maintaining safe living conditions within their respective roles—Redex USA as property owner; Bal Harbour Condominium Association overseeing common areas; and Silk Wood Management handling day-to-day operations—and breached this duty by failing to act upon known hazards.

The plaintiff requests judgment against each defendant individually along with compensation covering general damages related to her medical expenses incurred from treating illnesses linked directly back towards exposure inside contaminated premises alongside consequential costs like relocation expenses after vacating due uninhabitable circumstances created through negligent oversight exhibited throughout duration preceding events detailed hereinabove.

Representing Linda Mai are attorneys Peter G. DePrimo from DePrimo Law Firm located in Fort Lauderdale and Francis M. King based out St Petersburg who jointly filed suit under Case Number: 25-006474-CI
