The Sarasota County Law Library Board of Directors has introduced Skylaw-SRQ, a new pilot program aimed at making legal services more accessible for civil cases. The initiative allows individuals to schedule a one-hour online consultation with a qualified attorney for a reduced fee, without the need for a contract.

Skylaw-SRQ is available for various types of non-criminal legal matters, including civil litigation, corporate and business law, estate planning and guardianship, family law, and property law. Participants pay the $125 fee when their appointment is confirmed. All payments are made directly to the attorney providing the service.

The program does not require participants to meet any income qualifications. However, if someone is already represented by another lawyer in the same or related matter, they cannot use Skylaw-SRQ for that issue.

Additional consultations can be scheduled for the same fee, but there is no guarantee that further work will be provided by the initial or same attorney involved in the first session.

More details about eligibility and service terms are available on the Skylaw-SRQ website.
