A local resident has filed a lawsuit against a popular skating venue, claiming negligence led to severe injuries. Alisha Dock filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on September 19, 2025, accusing Astro Skate Pinellas Park, LLC of failing to maintain safe premises.

According to the court documents, Alisha Dock visited Astro Skate Pinellas Park on November 18, 2023. While skating towards the concession stand on carpet flooring outside the rink area, she encountered a hazardous condition where the floor began to slant and separate at a seam between two pieces of plywood. This unexpected defect caused her right ankle to buckle and resulted in a fall that led to significant injuries requiring surgical intervention. The complaint asserts that Astro Skate Pinellas Park failed in its duty to maintain safe conditions for its invitees and neglected reasonable care in inspecting and repairing dangerous conditions on their premises.

Dock’s legal team argues that Astro Skate Pinellas Park breached its duty by allowing such dangerous conditions to exist without proper warning or correction. The lawsuit claims that these conditions were present long enough for the company to have discovered them through reasonable care and taken corrective action. The complaint further alleges that this negligence directly resulted in Dock’s physical injuries, mental anguish, and ongoing medical expenses.

The plaintiff is seeking judgment for actual and compensatory damages exceeding $50,000. Additionally, Dock requests prejudgment interest on incurred medical expenses and demands a jury trial for all triable issues related to this case.

Representing Alisha Dock is attorney TJ Grimaldi from McIntyre Thanasides Bringgold Elliott Grimaldi & Guito, P.A., based in Tampa, Florida. The case was filed under Case Number 25-005266-CI.
