Demetrius Alpha Omega Murray, 33, of Tallahassee, has been indicted on six federal counts related to making interstate threats to injure children. The charges were announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Murray appeared in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick for his arraignment on December 4, 2025. His trial is scheduled for February 2, 2026, before United States District Judge Robert Hinkle.
If found guilty, Murray could face up to five years in prison for each count.
The investigation was conducted by the Tallahassee Police Department along with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Eric K Mountin is prosecuting the case.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, “An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”
