Theodore Roosevelt Robinson, Jr., 32, of Tallahassee, pleaded guilty on Mar. 9 to the federal charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to an announcement from John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address violent crime and illegal firearm possession in local communities. The prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at removing violent criminals and protecting public safety.

U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin said: “President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi launched Operation Take Back America to devote the full power of the Department of Justice toward cleaning up our streets and removing violent criminals like this defendant from our communities. Our citizens deserve to live in safety, and that is exactly what my office will deliver with aggressive prosecutions of dangerous criminals.”

According to court documents, Robinson sold a 12-gauge shotgun during a law enforcement operation on or about September 16, 2025. At the time, he was prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior state convictions for possession of methamphetamines, drug trafficking, and attempted armed robbery.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 2 at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee before District Judge Mark E. Walker. Robinson faces up to fifteen years in prison, three years supervised release, and a fine up to $250,000.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Joseph A. Ravelo prosecuted the case.

Operation Take Back America seeks to use all available resources from the Department of Justice against illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while focusing on community protection from violent crime perpetrators.
