A federal jury in Tampa has convicted Shane Valmont, 45, of distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the verdict, stating that Valmont now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and could receive up to life imprisonment. Sentencing is set for December 18, 2025.

During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that on December 27, 2022, Valmont sold about 112 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant. The informant was working with the Clearwater Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Clearwater Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Maria Guzman and Muriel Moore are prosecuting the case.

According to Kehoe’s office: “United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announces that a federal jury has found Shane Valmont (45, Tampa) guilty of distributing over 50 grams of methamphetamine. Valmont faces a minimum prison term of 10 years, up to life. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 18, 2025.”
