United States Attorney John P. Heekin has announced that three individuals, previously deported from the United States, have been indicted separately by a federal grand jury for illegal reentry. The indictments involve Freddy Bravo Galvez, 32, from Mexico; Marco Tulio Gonzalez-Oliva, 25, from Honduras; and Jose Alfredo Morales-Huerta, 48, also from Mexico.
Freddy Bravo Galvez was found in Tallahassee in June 2025 after being deported twice before, in 2013 and 2020. Marco Tulio Gonzalez-Oliva was located in Fort Walton Beach in March 2024 following his deportation in 2023. Jose Alfredo Morales-Huerta was discovered in Pensacola in June 2025 after being deported in 2019.
Illegal reentry into the United States carries a maximum penalty of two years imprisonment and a fine of up to $250,000. These cases are currently under investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant United States Attorneys Eric Mountin, Jessica Etherton, and Brooke DiSalvo are leading the prosecutions.
It is important to note that an indictment is only an allegation made by a grand jury. It does not serve as evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt during a fair trial.
These cases fall under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aiming to address illegal immigration and dismantle transnational criminal organizations. This operation involves coordinated efforts between various task forces within the Department of Justice.
