Miranda Lee Pryor, 39, of Orange Park, has been sentenced to 10 years and 5 months in federal prison for her involvement in an armed carjacking that took place in Lehigh Acres in May 2025. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell. Pryor had previously pleaded guilty on October 29, 2025, to charges of carjacking, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Her co-defendant, Rebecca Lea Stacey, 36, from West Palm Beach, received a sentence of 10 years and 10 months in federal prison for her role in the same incident. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the sentences.

Court records indicate that on May 11, 2025, Stacey and Pryor approached a man who was waiting inside his vehicle outside a store in Lehigh Acres. During the encounter, Pryor displayed a firearm while both women stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene at high speed.

Later that day, law enforcement officers located the stolen vehicle on Interstate 75. Stacey was driving when police initiated pursuit through Collier County. The chase ended when Stacey lost control and crashed the vehicle. Both suspects were apprehended soon after the crash.

During the pursuit, Pryor—who was sitting in the front passenger seat—threw the firearm used during the carjacking out of the window; authorities later recovered it from alongside the highway.

The investigation involved several agencies: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Lee County Sheriff’s Office; Collier County Sheriff’s Office; and Florida Highway Patrol. Assistant United States Attorneys Simon Eth and Kevin Huguelet prosecuted the case.

“United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.”
